Hi

My scnario, exchange 2007 standard edition running on windows 2003 64 bit edition  hp server. THe same server acting as domain controller and dns.

now the problem is mt exchange transport service is continously failed to start the and there is no mail flow either internally or from internet. The application events showing error events 4999  and error event 1016 -ProcessManager  each time when i attempting to start the service. Please see screen shots of both events.

here's two thoughts:

In regedit, right-click on key "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\Tcpip\Parameters" and go to the Security tab. Give NT AUTHORITY\NetworkService permission to Read that key.

or

set the ms exchange transport service to run as local system
start > run > services.msc, double click it, log on as, local system

thank you very much for your quick response. I tried both the solution, but unfortunately it is not working for me. Transport service still showing same issue and generating same error event ids in  application events
Can you ensure Exchange is totally up to date with service packs and updates along with OS, and if all are totally up to date, restart server and retry.

hi gupnit

I checked the article but in my scenario, this is a fresh 2007 installation, this is not a migrated system from a lagacy version.  so I cant find any duplicate entry of distinguishedName.
