How do I set up a word template so that any user logging on and opening word will be able to see/use the same template on the same machine.

I wouldn't advise it. You are likely to get conflicts.

If you want to do it, have everybody's user template location option to point to the same place.

never mind we are going to point to individual users for now.

The file locations are shown in Advanced options (Office button, Word options button) in 2007, and on the File Locations tab of the Options dialogue (Tools>Options) in earlier versions
