Exchange Cluster HTTPS/OWA setup with SSL not working

I have been trying to get OWA to work properly with our exchange cluster.

When i add the ssl to iis direcroty security (Exchange Virtual Server or Exchange website) for authentication (on both servers mail1 and mail2), run iisreset, the clustered http service goes offline - "failed" and will not come back online unless i remove all ssl, iisreset and the bring the http service online in cluster admin.

I am looking for a solution so that i can enable SSL for OWA, but cant seem to get it done properly.   Possibly i am missing something.

Any help is appreciated.

"The solutions and answers provided on Experts Exchange have been extremely helpful to me over the last few years. I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

In Exchange 2007 you should be utilising the Exchange Management Shell to import/create/request the SSL certificate rather than doing it directly in IIS.

Please have a read of this post to see how it should be done: http://blog.sembee.co.uk/archive/2008/05/30/78.aspx
