I went to Microsoft link. The first solution required a total uninstall of WLM plus registry deletions. So, I tried the second solution which required a repair of WLM. It fixed the .eml problem. Thanks for the solution. Kudos to everyone who share their knowledge with anyone asking a question.

I have a new computer with Win 7 Ultimate installed. I am using Windows Live Mail to retreive my Hughes.net email. I receive a lot of emails with .eml file attachments. They will not open.&quot;This program does not have a program associated with it for performing this action. Please install a program or,if one already installed,create an association in the Default Programs control panel.&quot; There is no .eml file listed in the default programs. I never had this problem in Windows XP Outlook Express. I spent an hour on the phone with Dell's Solution Station and never made any headway except getting a phone number to Microsoft<br />
support. I can't be the only person with this problem! Thanks for any help I can get.

.eml files will not open in Windows Live Mail

Windows Live Mail is the successor to Outlook Express, a discontinued email and news client bundled with several versions of Microsoft Windows, from Windows 98 to Windows Server 2003, and available for Windows 95 and Mac OS 9. In Windows Vista, Outlook Express was superseded by Windows Mail, then again by Windows Live Mail as separate software. Outlook Express is a different application from Microsoft Outlook. Beginning with Windows Vista Microsoft included Windows Mail, based on large parts of Outlook Express source code.
