java exception handling

The following try/catch has code to explicitly handle any IllegalArgumentException thrown. Show the modified code that will also catch any other type of exception that could be thrown by code called within the try block.

    try
    {
      ... methods called here ...
      ...
    }
    catch (IllegalArgumentException e)
    {
      ... code to handle IllegalArgumentException ...
    }

you just need to add extra catch blocks

    try
    {
      ... methods called here ...
      ...
    }
    catch (IllegalArgumentException e)
    {
      ... code to handle IllegalArgumentException ...
    }
    catch (Exception e)
    {
      ... code to handle Exception ...
    }

you could also add a block to catch Throwable, but generally not advisable

Hello Homeworker,

Check this :

try
    {
     ... methods called here ...
      ...
    }
    catch (IllegalArgumentException e)
    {
      ... code to handle IllegalArgumentException ...
    }
    catch (Exception e)
    {
      ... code to handle other Exception ...
    }

As shown by the experts above you can have multiple catch blocks per try block, to catch any specific or general exceptions. Specific exceptions should always be caught before general exceptions
