Eclipse Usage Data Collector Remove

How do I remove the Usage Data Collector feature from Eclipse? I have unchecked the "Enable capture" checkbox but this feature is still starting and taking a long time to do so. I would like to remove it not just disable the capturing.

"The solutions and answers provided on Experts Exchange have been extremely helpful to me over the last few years. I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

If you have unchecked the feature, it should be turned off. Are you sure that it is the UDC feature that is taking time to start?

After unchecking - "Enable capture" checkbox & had you clicked on Apply then on Ok - since this seems to be the only way

How about deleting the plugin responsible for this functionality?

I think that will do the trick.

Delete all the org.eclipse.epp.usagedata.* jars from the eclipse plugins folder. Make sue you take a backup in case you need to restore the jars.
