Sharepoint server sometimes published redirects to HTTP

I have a MOSS 2007 sharepoint server in my organisation which is published through ISA 2006 to an External URL via HTTPS

External URL:
Internal URL: http://Sharepoint

the ISA server publishing rule published to HTTPS and the internal site is on HTTP.

the alternate access mappings are set up as follows:

default: http://Sharepoint

when you click certain links from external (for example moving between pages) , it redirects the resulting screen to

obviously this page doesnt come up - if i put in the S in the address bar it goes to the page.

any suggestions?

"The solutions and answers provided on Experts Exchange have been extremely helpful to me over the last few years. I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

It would be hard to say the reason without checking the configuration of the web. app itself. Although, I would recommend extending the webapp itself on SSL and not use AAM.
What is the site name mentioned on the SharePoint rule itself. Is it the default name or the extranet?
