Dear  mrroonie,

       Thanks for your suggestion!!

SOme what issue is resolve but while saving time of word file it iis leaving one of the temp file like ~WRD000.tmp SO please provide the solution that how to stop the creation of these dummy files.

Regards
Sekhar
i think if you hide hidden and system files they will disappear - Word is well known to create a lot of temp files while in use (http://word.tips.net/Pages/T001389_Too_Many_Temporary_Files.html)

to hide hidden and system folders open Windows Explorer and go to the Tools menu and then Folder Options, then go to the 'view' tab along the top, and in the list search for the radio button for 'Don't show hidden files or folders'. when you click it and apply it the temp files will no longer be visible
Hi ,

Those temp files are not hidden files...i already kept the application as do not show Hidden files.......As per that temp file it is not creating hidden temp. SO provide alternate solution
does the .tmp file still exist after you have closed word?
please see here for information on Word temp files - http://support.microsoft.com/kb/211632

You can't stop the creation of ~tmp files win word - word needs them to work. Users need to have permissions to create and delete word ~tmp files as well as the documents themselves.
Not sure why temp files are a problem.  MSWord should delete them when it is done with them.  If not, some use a program called CCleaner.exe to clean the temp files and more.

Process Monitor
http://www.microsoft.com/technet/sysinternals/utilities/processmonitor.mspx

Set the filter at the top to Include "Result" is "Access Denied" then "Include", and then try and recreate the errors by saving the file. ..........Then go look at the logging, and it will tell you where the permissions are hosed.

Once you open those up, keep retrying until you get the desired results.... Might just be a folder/reg key....
I agree with KCTS,
Word uses Temp files when you are making changes. Then when you save it probably deletes the original and renames the temp to the name of the original.
I suggest making good backups to be able to recover the file if someone actually deletes it. Part of giving Write access is to give delete access.
Dear  Expetrs,

To delete the temp file  has to  use CCleaner and if deleted any file by user we can provide it from backups it's common solution yaarrrrrr.

But we don't require that type of solutions

I want without creation of temp file we can work on server drive on MF office files that is only we required.

I havce posted the query past 25 days but there is no proper solution.

NOTE:  Once again iam reminding to you this problem was not occuring with MS office 2003 and Open office,   Only problem with LS office XP and 2007.

So guys please try to resolve towards this way.

Iam very thankful to u if you provide proper solution.

CAN YOU CHECK IT REGARDING REGISTRY LEVEL.
Did you try Process Monitor? should tell you exaCTLY WHERE YOU ARE BEING DENIED....

Also, creation of TEMP files has been around a long time in Office, and I dont think it is possible to disable them.

Just reread the thread (had to freshen up on it...)....

You modified SPECIAL permissions, to disallow deleting.... Thats why they cant delete the TEMP copy of the file....
As we've said, Word uses temp files.
Please read this per Microsoft:
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/211632

This tells what NTFS permissions are needed:
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/277867/

it's not resolvinng my problem
