Email Dissappeared from outlook 2007

Hi
I have one of the user who says that she had seen her email in the outlook  2007 couple of days before and now he says lots of emails  have  dissappeared from  the sharede  inbox.
Any ideas how these emails can dissappear

Check from when is it not showing, is it a exchange IMAP or have you set .PST?
 you can also check on Outlook View-Current View menu and whether Messages are selected.

Things don't generally just "disappear", even in Exchange. One of a couple of things has probably happened:

- The user has archived email out to a PST file, so it is no longer in their Outlook inbox. As PSTs don't "roam" with the user, that data would only be on one particular computer but no longer in their Exchange mailbox.

- There is a Mailbox Management policy on the Exchange Server processing the mailbox and removing the emails.

- Someone has actually deleted the messages. Anyone with access to the user's account (by knowing their password) or a rogue assistant/administrator could potentially gain access to do this. "Deleted Items Retention" on the user's Deleted Items folder might give you some leads.

- Compare the mailbox to the view in Outlook Web Access. The data in OWA is live data from the server, so if you see what you expect to see there, it is quite possible Outlook in Cached Mode has become a little unhappy. Removing and recreating the Outlook profile would normally resolve this issue.

Check your current views.  If those are wrong it will seem that emails are disappearing.  View, Arrange by, Current View.  Tick View Messages to show them all.  That is in 2003, might be slightly different on 2007.  I'll update the ticket this evening once I get in front of a Outlook 2007 machine, if no one else comments.

viewing from outlook web access is the best first step because that represents what is currently in the mailbox on the server
if everything is there, you should start outlook using the /cleanviews switch

if items are missing, then start looking at rules and autoarchive
