How to exempt user from GPO in SBS2003?

Dear experts,

A quick question - how to exempt particular user(s) from GPO?

I am in a SBS2003 environment and there are Group Policies at domain level. Usually I manage GPOs from goping to ADUC > Domain > Properties > Group Policy. But in this SBS2003 it says Group Policy Management Snap-in has been installed hence I can't go in this way.

I can see those Group Policy Settings in Server Management, but not able to see how to exempt user. Can someone tell me where to look please?

Thanks in advance.

Open the GPMC ( Group policy management console) from the admin tools.
Open the Group Policy Objects.
Find the policy you want to modify.
Select the Delegation tab in the right-hand pane , click the Advanced button

click on Add, type in the username you want to exempt.
NOw for this user, click the check box for "Deny Apply Group Policy"
Click Apply,
close.

that should do it.

You can also use Group policy modeling to test the affects this has on that user.

Hope this helps
