Best Blog for Joomla

I would like to put a blog on a Joomla site that has the functionality of people being able to post comments as well as be notified by email when a new blog post has been posted.

It seems that Joomla itself can be set up as a blog, but no good comments, unless you plug in something like Jcomments, but does it allow for email notifications?  It says so on the Joomla extensions page, but not on the website.

I know about corePHP for Wordpress extension, but that may be a lot more work than is needed.

I want like the first 2 posts of the blog to be posted on the home page and then click to read the whole post, but the client wants it so that it is all seamless and you don't leave the Joomla site.

So I need a:
With commenting
Email notification of new posts to those who sign up

Please tell me the best solution.

Thanks very much.

I think you make it wordpress blog in separate folder...Because wordpress blog lot of options and plugins available..and customize

Joomla blog some extension SEO/SEF not supported. While getting some unwanted errors..

Refer the following joomla blog extensions

Hello, Thanks for your response, but I had seen the existing extensions already.  I was looking for a plugin that would make it so that when a new blog post is posted, that people could be emailed who had signed up to be notified.

Any other ideas?
I have set up a few blogs using both Joomla and Wordpress. They both have their ups and downs, but if you are set on using Joomla then I would strongly recommend using MyBlog. I have yet to to find any blog extensions that come close to matching the capabilities of MyBlog.

MyBlog is developed by Azrul who also develops JomComment. These two components integrate easily and together make a strong blogging platform.

*Email Notification*
MyBlog will allow for multiple different forms of notification including email as well as subscription to RSS feeds.

You can find MyBlog and JomComment along with a list of all their features here:

I am not yet certain if this will work for my particular website, but this is a very good solution for many applications, so I am accepting it as a good solution.
