blackberry programing 8300, 9000, 9600 is there any difference in how they operate

i am thinking of buying a BlackBerry Curve 8300 2MP Mobile Phone just for development purposes to program some programs that i require on the phone. is there much difference between the way it operates code and platform wise as compared to a 9000 or a 9600
i was just going to buy a low end phone to play around with
is the structure the same are they that much different to each other. have next to no knowledge on this subject at the moment do the screen work the same or similar enough to use the 8300 with the camera

you probably already know this, but you can also download phone simulators for the blackberry...

yes i have already set up eclipse to start doing this but want to get a phone to start loading up the files to get a demo going on the phone its self and i need the photo capability to interact with the phone that the simulator does not do, but was wondering if i buy a cheap 8200 would this be the same visually as the 9000 or just get the 9000 to play with
The 8200 and 8300 run an older version of handheld code, and as such probably won't have some of the newer APIs exposed.

If I were developing an app I would get (depending on the type of app you're developing):
- one touch screen (9500/9520/9530/9550)
- one qwerty all-singing-all-dancing (9000/9700)
- one mass-market device (pearl 8110/curve 8520)

ended getting a black berry 9700 on the same cost plan that i had a normal phone for now extra so got it. Not sure that i can justify takng a 700$ phone out in public. may just leave it with my com program and keep using the nockia 3210 and make calls and then program and test on the malckberry thanks for you ideas
