Time-out occurred while waiting for buffer latch -- type 4
Hello experts,
We get the following error: A time-out occurred while waiting for buffer latch -- type 4, bp 03CEA8A0, page 1:264572, stat 0x1c0000b, database id: 2, allocation unit Id: 142365570695168/4238405474 05824, task 0x00AE87A8 : 0, waittime 300, flags 0x80039, owning task 0x00FEC2F8. Not continuing to wait.
The error occurs while trying to perform a batch update of a CRM system from back-office data originating in text files, as part of a multi-step process. The data (say full customer base) are bulk-copied to intermediate tables and then transformed to fields using metadata definitions. The error has occurred 4 times in a row in different points of the process, which has been running without problems for the last four months.
SQL Server version: Microsoft SQL Server 2005 - 9.00.4035.00 (Intel X86) Nov 24 2008 13:01:59 Copyright (c) 1988-2005 Microsoft Corporation Standard Edition on Windows NT 5.2 (Build 3790: Service Pack 2)
Thanx in advance for your help.
