hi anthony,

what is the volume CDPLAN is that volume\folder still available.

30166
DPM detected that the recovery point volume for <data source type> <data source name> is not available on the DPM server. Protection jobs will fail until the recovery point volume is brought online.

Ensure that all the disks added to the DPM storage pool are online.

update with more details of your environment and what is the ibm-trn-1 server and is this happening only during certain backups or is that happening for all backups

actually the disk reached max space and so i have to delete the protection group and then again added the protection group. Now the disk got full because the old recovery  points were not deleted we just had 5 days retention period but my history showed more than 3 weeks of data. so do you know how to auto delete old recovery points?

hi anthony,

you cannot delete the recovery points from the managment console. you need to use the managment shell and use power shell commands.

this post will give you a overview of this.

Microsoft technet article.

if you want a script that can query you DPM server and delete records that are older by given number of days, then please look at this post and copy the code in that post and save it to a file with extension .ps1
