Where to find Dell Inspiron 1420 1520 1521 / Vostro 1400 1500 Keyboard Ribbon Cable Connector Clip

Hi guys, looking for a Dell Inspiron 1420 1520 1521 / Vostro 1400 1500 Keyboard Ribbon Cable Connector Clip. I have only found one in the USA, but shipping costs are not worth it. is there anywhere I can find this in the UK?

thanks!

The keyboard clip is part of the systemboard (aka motherboard) and your best bet is to find a bad one at a good price; but, are you sure the rest of the connector isn't damaged?  Those clips are usually attached as part of the connector.
Here are a bunch in the UK: http://shop.ebay.co.uk/i.html?_nkw=1520+motherboard&_sacat=0&_trksid=p3286.m270.l1313&_odkw=1420+motherboard&_osacat=0&bkBtn=

I've ordered this part before from warrantypartsdirect.dell.com, DavisMcCarn is correct its part of the system board.  They keyboard only comes with the ribbon itself. probably not worth it if its out of warranty.
That clip is design terrible.
Looks like the part you are searching for is Dell part number is WP043 or WP044, runs anywhere from $180 to $220.
I'd shop in the UK if possible, there are probably more available for less money in the states, but shipping costs aren't going to save you any money or time.

Hi guys,

Thanks for your advice. Ended up ordering it from  the US. Clip - $5,95, FedEx express intnl - $36, tax - $0. Ordered on Monday, came on Wednesday. Fitted to the ribbon cable,  tucked back the cable under the palm rest (that was the trickiest bit), installed the keyboard and  I am actually busing it to type in this response.

Cheers!
