Missing Playlists

Experts,

I have a couple dozen playlists in iTunes, but lately only about five of them show up on my iPod.  I'm syncing like I always do, but for some reason, not all the playlists are being downloaded.

How do I fix this?

I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

have you tried backing it up,  resetting to factory defaults and then re-syncing?

and why is this in the SQL zone?

Probably because EE keeps categories you've chosen from previous questions, which is sometimes helpful and sometimes not.

I don't see iTunes anywhere on my machine.  When I try to re-download it, it immediately thanks me for downloading iTunes, even though no program has executed.
So in short, it acts like iTunes is on my machine, yet I don't see it in any program list and it doesn't pop up when I attach my iPod.

how have you been syncing if you can't find itunes on your machine? can you see it in program files?

Good question.  I reinstalled iTunes (having no idea why it wasn't still installed), but I'm still only getting about 5 playlists out of probably at least 30.

I'll try that later on when I get home.

I had a similar problem.  If you go to the "Music" tab in Itunes - Ipod sync  screen, you will see that you have options in how it synchronizes the music.  I had mine set to sync music and only selected playlists.  It was driving me crazy.  Change that to sync all playlists  and whenever you add a new one it will automatically move.  If you sync only selected items, every time you add a new song or playlist you have to remember to go here and check it on the list.

I have "entire music library checked" instead of "Selected Playlists, Artists, and Genres".  Everything was working perfectly before and the settings haven't changed.

My problem is still unsolved, but these suggestions were good.
