"The solutions and answers provided on Experts Exchange have been extremely helpful to me over the last few years. I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

How would we verify?  How do we go around this?
It would be In the task bar also check msconfig ton see if it's In the startup. The only way around it is to install the database on and host the file on a computer that is not at risk of being shutdown as the database is needed to share quickbooks files these days
There is data corruption in your data file -- you will need to get the file recovered. Try sending your file a free evaluation for data recovery (see link on the right side at http://qbrepair.net/Quickbooks-Data-Recovery.aspx)
Another way to check for the host is in Quickbooks hit F2.  If the Bottom area the says "local server information" says "Hosting: On" then this computer is the host.  If not,  that same screen, above the local server information, will list the Server IP.  Find the computer with that IP, and that's your host.
