How to import files into Access using Open File Dialog Box Option

Hi Experts,
I am trying to find a way to import Excel or Text files into access but giving the user the option to import the files from any location like the open file dialog box.  I looked for it in this forum and found few of them but nothing has worked for me.  Note, i am using Access 2007.  Anyway, i found the code below and it works for me but need your help with little bit tweaking.  Here is what i need:
1) i want to be able to import either Excel, Text or CSV files.  The code below only imports access db
2) i am not sure where i put the code that handles the import function because the code is so complicated and could not follow it.  The code below only gives you the browsing capabilities
3)I would like to get rid off any other code of lines that is not serving my purpose which is only import Excel type file or text/csv type files.  By removing the extra codes will simplify the code for me and i would be able to follow it or make changes.

The code you have copied is to browse and select folders, not files.  Copy the code from that Access Web ( to use the File Open/Save API.

When you copy this, you will need to paste it into an Access code module.  Open your application in design mode, then press Ctrl-G.  this will open the Visual Basic Editor.  In the upper left hand corner of the window, right click and select the insert code module option.  Then paste the code from the Access Web in that module.

In the api code, there is a sample function (TestIt)  which provides an example of how to call the API with specific file types.  Change those to handle Excel, Access, and text files only.

Once you have TestIt working, you will actually need to provide a way to "import" the data from the file you have selected into Access.  get the first part working, then post back.
