Form Submit with AJAX , no PHP

I am working on my first Adobe air app to run on local machines.
I have chose to develop the air app with Ajax + Html.

My question is : Is there any way to make a form submission that saves to Adobe SQLite database without using PHP?

Does any one have any examples?

Form submission could'nt save on a database as it is origined on the client side. You need some server technology to receive this form and save data on the server.

This technology haven't to be PHP, but this is a possibility. Other possibilities are:

ASP
ASP .Net
JSP
Cold Fusion
Any CGI

You would want to use Adobe AIR for desktop applications that do not require a web browser to run. Unless you are trying to have you Adobe AIR application communicate with a database/api on a non-local server you wouldn't need PHP. You can use AS3 directly in your AIR application to communicate with a local database. The Google search result link below will have tutorials on how to work with SQLLight in Adobe AIR.
