Firefox and IE: Video hangs in full screen mode after a few seconds

When I try to watch a youtube video in IE 8 or Firefox 3.6.3 it works only if it's NOT in full screen mode. When I switch to full screen mode the following happens:

In IE:
The video stops immediately (freezes). The sound continues.

In Firefox:
The video play for a couple more seconds and then stops (freezes). The sound continues.

When I end full screen mode the video continues but not at the point it stopped; it continues where it would have been if it never freezed. It is now in sync with the audio.

I have had this problem from day one but now I really would like to have full screen mode. It seems that the problem is concerned with Adobe Flash movies.

My configuration:
Windows XP SP3
Adobe Flash Player 10,0,45,2

Any help is very much appreciated.

What type of processor and video do you have.
Sounds like you are lacking horsepower there.

Adobe Flash Player now sets hardware acceleration on by default. This causes some computers to hang on fullscreen mode. To fix the problem, right click on the flash screen and select "Settings" from the menu.

Uncheck "Enable Hardware Acceleration".
