How to access share folder using IP address in windows 2008 R2 Cluster

I have created multiple resource group of File Services on windows 2008 R2 Cluster, which is working fine, but I have scanner which I want to point with one of the share folder, so all the scanning document will be stored into.

The only option is to enter the UNC path is by IP address, which is not working.

Please do let me know how it's possible.

Shared Folder is accessiable via resource name, but not with IP. I have read couple of artical, but most of them are saying it's not possible.

when I use //1.2.3.4 then it open the explorer windows but not showing any share folder.

ehm, did you try \\
sorry, but just in case.....
i googled myself and found the same.

This is by design. Change has happened in W2K8. Now share is scoped to the
netname, and can be accessed only using this netname.

so maybe you can work around with another non-clustered share and a planned task, that copies the file to your cluster using the name

or buy a new scanner

but maybe you misconfigured nameresolution on the scanner
that would explain, why it just works with IPs
which model do you have?
