Troubleshooting suggestions for vmware server 2
Running VMware server 2 on ubuntu 8.0.4 with guest OS of windows 7. As soon as the virtual machine starts up, if I bring up ultraedit and go to file->open, the entire virtual machine locks up. This is consistently reroducible. The virtual machine also occasionally locks up at other time as well.
Is there any logging I can enable or any other troubleshooting actions I can take to figure out what is going on?

Dual core Pentium 2.14 Ghz with 3 GB Ram. 1 CPU and 1 GB Ram dedicated to the VM.
I guess this is the problem. Try provisioning 1.5GB or 2GB of RAM to the Windows 7 VM.
What kind of applications are you running within the VM ?

I've never had a VM lock up completely due to low RAM, i've had them treat it as a normal PC would.
Does it lock up completely, or only become slow?

I'm running php/mysql/apache as well as ultraedit and developing java programs. I was able to get it to lock up consistently by opening ultraedit right after boot up, going to file->open and then navigating to a certain folder. It also randomly locks up in other instances.

Found one other pattern that causes it to consistently lock up. I will give player a try to see if the same thing happens.
