"You may a victim of SW Counterfeiting" Message

I clobbered my Windows XP and have had to re-install it from scratch on a Dell Inspiron 1705 Laptop. Getting an error message when I try to install the Dell System driver file MP061AP09.exe)  Has anyone run into this message below ?

"You may be a victim of software counterfeiting.  This copy of Windows did not pass genuine Windows validation. The AC adapter and battery must be plugged in before the system BIOS can be flashed.  Press OK when they are both plugged in or cancel to Quit".

(I am using AC Power ... I removed the Battery to confirm it ... AND my original Windows XP CD)

Let's deal with the BIOS update error message first the file you have is NOT a driver - it is the flash utility for the e1705 which updates the BIOS to version A09
The current  most recent version available from Dell is A10.

Do you want to continue with the BIOS update?
If so which version is currently installed (see the boot screen for details).  Do you have the correct Dell adapter and a Dell original battery installed?
