Missing phpmyadmin in Typo3 install

Folks

Please bear with me - I'm pretty new to Typo3.

I just have "inherited" a website based on Typo3 and  I am trying to get acquainted to it,

In particular I understand I should have a phpmyadmin tool that does not appear in my list of tools. As far as I understand this should be pretty much standard in a typo3 4.1 site.

What should i check / do to get it working ?

Any advise most welcome

Regards

"The solutions and answers provided on Experts Exchange have been extremely helpful to me over the last few years. I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

They are separate systems - Typo3 is a CMS and PhpMyAdmin is a system for managing databases (DBMS). If you want to use PhpMyAdmin, and your hosting company have not installed it, then you can install it yourself, but you may not need it at all - what are you trying to achieve?
