Left Outer Join in Crystal Repors XI w/ MySQL

I'm connecting to a mySQL 4 database from Crystal XI using the odbc driver 3.51

When i change an inner join to a left outer join it creats some bizzare syntax...

Some googling suggests this can be fixed with a registry tweak but all references are made to older versions of crystal.

I tried: [HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Business Objects\Suite 11.5\Crystal Reports\DatabaseOptions\OuterJoin]

...but it didn't help.

Thanks in advance!

SELECT `opencall1`.`callref`, `opencall1`.`status`, `opencall1`.`cust_name`, `opencall1`.`costcenter`, `updatedb1`.`updatetimex`, `updatedb1`.`timespent`, `opencall1`.`probcode`, `updatedb1`.`repid`, `pcdesc1`.`info`, `opencall1`.`fixcode`, `rcdesc1`.`info`, `updatedb1`.`updatetxt`
 FROM   {oj ((`swdata`.`opencall` `opencall1` INNER JOIN `swdata`.`updatedb` `updatedb1` ON `opencall1`.`callref`=`updatedb1`.`callref`) LEFT OUTER JOIN `swdata`.`pcdesc` `pcdesc1` ON `opencall1`.`probcode`=`pcdesc1`.`code`) LEFT OUTER JOIN `swdata`.`rcdesc` `rcdesc1` ON `opencall1`.`fixcode`=`rcdesc1`.`code`}
 WHERE  (`opencall1`.`probcode` LIKE '%VNT3%' OR `opencall1`.`fixcode` LIKE '%VNT3%') AND (`updatedb1`.`updatetimex`>=1270080000 AND `updatedb1`.`updatetimex`<=1271980800)

When you filter based on the right table of a left join, Crystal automatically converts it to an inner join since Crystal cannot compare NULL

No this isn't one of those problems.

It's a known crystal bug (where it puts this weird {oj syntax in). Unfortunately all the google results are referring to very old versions of crystal.
I don't know.

Persistence paid off! Finally one of the registry hacks worked:

[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Business Objects\Suite 11.5\Crystal Reports\Database\QueryBuilder\OuterJoinEscSeq]

Now to try and hack the server!

I'm still trying to work out how to get the report to work in my web application (i managed to get it working within Crystal Reports with the above-mentioned registry hack).

Any ideas?
