Exchange 2010 DAG - Client Query

I have a two server DAG with each server seperated by a VPN. This works well as a disaster recovery setup. When Outlook users connect they are automatically routed to one of the servers as I would expect. Is it possible to have users at each site connect Outlook to their local Exchange server rather than all being forced to connect to one server which for some is at the other end of a VPN? Hope this makes sense!

I wear a lot of hats...

"The solutions and answers provided on Experts Exchange have been extremely helpful to me over the last few years. I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

In DAG or Exchange 2010 itself, The architecture is designed in such a way that Clients do not connect directly to mailbox servers, rather all clients connect to CAS server. This is true for OWA, ACtiveSync, Outlook Anywhere or Outlook 2007/2010 Client. So client will always get connected via CAS server to the backend DAG database.
