"The solutions and answers provided on Experts Exchange have been extremely helpful to me over the last few years. I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

The current Java release is 1.6 update 19.  You can download it from www.java.com.

If for some reason you do need update 17, the official download site is here.  Note that you don't have to sign up; just set Platform to Windows, check the I agree... box, and click Continue.

If you're just installing on the one machine, use the Windows Online Installation.  If you're going to run the installer on more than one machine, get the Windows Offline Installation.
