DFS with SBS 2003 and Server 2008

We currently have a SBS 2003 SP2 server. we are looking for a solution to provide redundancy in the event of this server being down. Adding an additional server (DC) will resolve Ad issues but we would like a method to duplicate data access as well. DFS would seem to be a possible answer can anyone suggest the best method to incorporate this solution. Would we need 2 additional servers running Server 2008 and the data shares to be on them?
Would the SBS 2003 server be able to have replicated data on it as well. Many thanks.

I wear a lot of hats...

"The solutions and answers provided on Experts Exchange have been extremely helpful to me over the last few years. I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.
