Scanner utility

Hi guys,

So the client of mine uses the Kyocera print/scan/copier.  On each station they have that Scanner utility  to see and review scans.  Very often they accidentaly close that utility and have a hard time to find again to start it up.

What are the other options instead of that?  Anything more reliable they can use?

Thanks in advance!

What is the model of your scanner. You may be able to do SMB Scanning.

Network.

What about that section?
is the shortcut to the scanner program not a good option?
It walks you through how to create a static smb share, instead of using the utility that comes with the scanner. Static shares are more stable, and there's no way to close it.
Let me take a peek into that SMB stuff.  I will get back to you.
Thanks.
any chance  you answer my question?  if not, please say so !
Hey Nobus,

Sorry for the delay responding.  I am sure that will work.  As currently I unstructed them to restart it via Start->Programs->Startup.

I do want to try with SMB share though as Coalnine mentioned.  Also, I heard people do it with Adobe suite.  How does that work?

Thank you.
tx for the clarification !
Is there a server that you can install the scanner file utility on so that it interacts with the copier and users just access their scanned docs via a UNC path?
Hi Coal, actually I want to avoid server and make it server-less environment.  This is just a 2.5 users shop..
gotchya, was just curious of the scale you are working with.. Would be best to use UNC paths and link them in the scanner then..

Kenny
Thanks Kenny,

Let me look into the static SMB share.  I will the client next week and will let you know.  Thanks again!!
