Networking two PCs on the Clear Network

I have a client who is switching from Verizon to Clear as their ISP.  Information on Clear can be found at www.clearwire.com.  There are two PCs in their office.  The first PC is hard-wired to a Clear Modem.  The second PC is in a different office and uses a USB Modem to connect to the Clear tower.  The first PC is running Windows XP Pro.  The second is running Windows 7.

Workgroup: WORKGROUP

ip addr: 184.77.188.102
subnet mask: 255.255.192.0
default gateway: 184.77.128.1
Workgroup: WORKGROUP

Can someone help me figure out how to setup these two computers to be able to share their files and printers?

If these computers are at different physical locations then you will need a VPN between them and for that you will need some sort of VPN capable router at one or both ends (use a client at one end if you only put a router at one end)

They are physically in the same building, on the same floor, but in different offices.

OK can you get a cable (or even wireless connection between them).

If you can get a cable connection between them the best way is to do

ISP - ROUTER - Switch - computers

Switch is optional as many SOHO routers have switches built in

Connecting these two computers to a switch is not going to be any good if they are not configured to be in the same subnet.  You'll have to read a bit on subnetting to get a handle on what that means, but in short if you look at either of the IP addresses in the two host descriptions you provided, then you'll notice that the first three octets (a.b.c.d where each of a,b,c, and d are octets) do not match.  With a subnet of 255.255.255.0 or a /24 subnet, all three of the first three octets much match exactly in order to be part of the same subnet, the last octet can be anything between 1 and 254.  

So 192.168.15.2/24 and 192.168.15.5/24 are in the same subnet.  192.168.15.2/24 and 184.77.188.102/25 are definately NOT in the same subnet.  (/24 is synonymous with 255.255.255.0 and 254 hosts are part of that subnet or 1-254 for the last octet  (/25 is half of that meaning synonymous with 255.255.255.192 and only half the hosts or 127 hosts) So with a /25 or 255.255.255.192 subnet-mask, you've split that network into two networks, so now 184.77.188.0/25 is a network with 127 hosts, and 184.77.188.128/25 is a network with 127 hosts.    

So that's "subnetting 101".  Bottom line is that if you have two hosts that are not in the same subnet, then they need to route to one another.  There's only one thing that can route and it's a router.  

So all that aside, if these two computers are within close proximity of each other, I think the simplest answer to your question is to install a second ethernet card in each of these computers, give each of them addresses like 192.168.1.10 and 192.168.1.11 and *DO NOT SPECIFY A DEFAULT GATEWAY ADDRESS ON THESE 2nd network interface cards) and then either connect them via a cross-over cable or you can buy a small switch if you'll add more computers to your new little LAN (local-area network) in the near future.

I am going to try the router way.  The modem in the front room receives a stronger signal than the modem in the other office.  Thanks for the help.
