Exchange 2003 -- second domain

I need to setup a second domain on our exchange 2003 server.    The company is changing names and want to use a new domain name for email while still being able to receive emails on the old domain name.   How do i do that?

I wear a lot of hats...

"The solutions and answers provided on Experts Exchange have been extremely helpful to me over the last few years. I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

in the exchange system manager, recipient policies, add the new domain there along side your existing one

that should push the new address as an additional smtp address on each user/group

then just route the new domain MX/A records to your exchange server

when you're ready, change the recipient policy so that the new domain is everyone's default address...

then after awhile, if you want, remove the old one from the same policy

What bryon has posted is essentially correct... I like to include a bit more detail:

That seems to work.    Do I need to setup an X400 record for the new domain also.
