you can use stsadm cmdlet in powershell directly , powershell same as cmd commands you can run and write the same scripts in cmd as powershell
all you need is to access the bin folder and execute the stsadm commands

Open  powershell ISE

Then write the following command

Add-PSSNAPIN Microsoft.SharePoint.PowerShell
This command finds the .dll for sharepoint and add it as an assembly inside the Powershell ISE
then you can use sts commands

is the power shell installed in the same server that hosts SharePoint,
If not please install powershell version 2.0 on the same server that hosts sharepoint and then run the following command on the powershel ISE

Add-PSSNAPIN Microsoft.SharePoint.PowerShell
