"The solutions and answers provided on Experts Exchange have been extremely helpful to me over the last few years. I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

Remove SMTP as a component under roles for IIS?

I did look under there but it is not there (perhaps I'm really blind).

It appears things have changed in IIS7 so your eyesight is fine. ;)

This is on how to configure SMTP but I am sure you will figure it out.

IIS7 does not manage the SMTP virtual server. You'll have to use the IIS6 manager. It should be under administrative tools along with the IIS7 manager. If not check windirectory\system32\inetsrv\inetmgr6.exe

You should be able to turn it off from there.
