I wear a lot of hats...

"The solutions and answers provided on Experts Exchange have been extremely helpful to me over the last few years. I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

Thinking about it does windows 7 even have a deploy.cab? SUPPORT\TOOLS? I can't say I have needed or looked for it since xp :|

With Windows 7 and Vista there is no longer a Deploy.cab file on the CD and no longer Setup Manager
for creating answers files because Vista uses a new set of deployment tools (It’s all available in
the OS itself).

Making Bulk Changes to Active Directory

Watch this video to see how easy it is to make mass changes to Active Directory from an external text file without using complicated scripts.

since Windows Vista there's used a new deployment mechanism.
The new format are Windows Images (wim files)
To cusomize the install.wim from the Windows 7 DVD you have to use the WIndows Automated Installation Kit

Deploy.cab does not exist for Windows 7 is this for sysprep? It has all moved to Windows AIK

The sysprep location has changed to %WINDIR%\System32\Sysprep folder on the target machine

Windows AIK:

The sysprep file is used to help you create a deployable state. Since we are assuming you wish to that?
