Impact of Updating Active Directory

We migrated from Windows 2000 Native Mode Active Directory to Windows Server 2008. On our domain controller, it shows Windows 2000 Native. We are currently not experiencing any problems with AD, but thought we should probably move it at least to Windows 2003 native mode. We have Win2003 and Windows 2008 servers.

Thoughts, suggestions?

Is this an after hours change or can I do it during the day?

I wear a lot of hats...

"The solutions and answers provided on Experts Exchange have been extremely helpful to me over the last few years. I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

definately after hours and with a system state backup (which has been verified).

provided you don't have any Windows 2000 DC's, it should be OK - but best be safe and do the above.
