how to create an extranet on SBS08

Hey guys,

I need to create an extranet or way for outside users who are not members of my domain to be able to access our intranet page. How would you recommend I do this?

I wear a lot of hats...

"The solutions and answers provided on Experts Exchange have been extremely helpful to me over the last few years. I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

how about using the built in sharepoint that you have with Small Business Server?

From within your network goto http://companyweb

You can make this available from outside your network

all you should need to do is forward port 987 from your router/firewall to your SBS server.

You can then access it by going to http://public_IP_Address:987/

dematzer that seems to have done the trick...

last question... does anyone know what I need to change to prevent even a "read only" user on the sharepoint system not to be able to download or save any data from the site?
