how to get a multiline gridview - similar to a multiline text box

I have a multi-line text box.  I can enter stuff in paragraphs. ie using new lines.
eg>
This can
be
easily entered
in a textbox.  < eg

I click a save button on my asp.net page and this gets saved to a sql database and at the same time gets displayed at a gridview.

the issue is that when displayed in the grid view - every text entered is in one line. (or word wrapped)  ie looses its line feed \ new line

And when i click the row on the gridview to display back to the textbox -- its all displays properly.

Just when displaying on the gridview -- its not keeping its paragraph formats.

Please help me to solve this.
I am using Web Developer Express 2008. C#, Asp.net   SQL 2008.
