Server 2003 installation error. Windows cannot be installed on the partition you selected
See the attatched Error message. I'm recieving this message when installing server 2003 on "what I am told" is a brand new machine. I have deleted this partition several times and started over with the same results, it just keeps looping back to this. It never gave me the option to format the disk like most installations do. If anyone can tell me how to fix this I would appreciate it.

Hi CJ27,
Can you try to use a different windows Server 2003 Disk and check if that helps....
If not then go to BIOS and check if the SATA support is enabled.....
Thanks

Is this setup being installed on a raid array, if so you may have a bad drive. Please check your hardware vendor site for a diagnostic utility and verify all drives are good.
Something else you could try is to do a low level format format / zero write (Twice), or try using FDISK from a dos floppy and try the install again.
