My window xp with IE 8 cannot open any website. This message show up on the page. Thanks

Can you open up another web browser, (like firefox), and check if it can connect with it.

Check your network setting or internet connection, dns setting.
Go to http://www.opendns.com and signup for an OpenDNS Free account, configure your router or computer to use openDNS settings and in the OpenDNS dashboard.

It did not work. Same message:

What exactly did not work, you have been given a few options. Can you reply to each user so we can help you further.

try this
in 'Tools' Menu of your IE 8 click on 'Internet Options'
'Connections' Tab and click on 'LAN Settings'
make sure you have 'Automatically detect settings' checked.
