When i record or take a picture using my mini DV RD52 it doesn't show the correct date and time.

When i record or take a picture using my mini DV RD52 it doesn't show the correct date and time. IT shows the following date every time: 2008/01/03 in yellow on the bottom right hand corner when you view the pic/video. IS there anyway i can change this to have the relevant data and time the pciture/video was taken?

I wear a lot of hats...

"The solutions and answers provided on Experts Exchange have been extremely helpful to me over the last few years. I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

I can't find a manual for this product anywhere online. It is manufactured in China; this appears to be the broken-English translation of the manufacturer's product website:

http://www.andicn.com/Products.asp?id=36&classid=92

Note the product's "PC camera functions offer easy enjoyment of network life." Oh yeah.

My gut says there's no way to fix this thing because it is a cheap camera. I could be wrong. Your best bet is to try to contact the company using their feedback form:

Good luck!

To G-Warren,

I have found some instructions for changing the time on a CD that came with the device. It doesn't make to much sense to me? I have attached the files if you want to take a look.
Attached the instructions + details when you edit the "Time" folder. (this will make more sense when you look at the instructions). I have copied the information into a txt document.
Thanks

It apears that you can edit the date and time with a BAT (batch) file on your PC.
But  this Chinese to English translation is Chinese to me.
Good Luck

Unfortunately with this one i never found the solution. I think the key was to edit the BAT file in a way which would produce the date and time. I manage to make some progress in doing this and actually produced some changes on the camera. Sadly the time and date was never achieved.
