Creating custom field in Outlook and importing

I'm importing 1000+ contacts in to Outlook and then will move them over to a public folder.

I need to create a custom field that I would like to display on the General tab (Outlook 2007) and I also need to import data in to the field. So far I can't find how to do this...

Any ideas?

How are you importing?  CSV file? PST file?

You can only display stuff on the General Tab by using pre-define field names set by Microsoft.  You simply make a new column with one of the pre-defined field names below in your CSV file.  Here are all the pre-define fileds that I know of: (If you still need something custom, you'll need Microsoft Dyanmics CRM software to create that filed and tied it into Outlook)
