Mouse does not work inside a document

I have a customer that has somehow lost PARTIAL mouse control.
The mouse works  fine outside the document on the toolbar or on the desktop but inside a word document or outlook the cursor does not work, yo can only move around the document with the arrow keys!, Anyone know what they could have done?

I wear a lot of hats...

"The solutions and answers provided on Experts Exchange have been extremely helpful to me over the last few years. I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

You can try this:
1)Close Word and Outlook
2) Open "regedit" (Windows Key + 'R' then type "regedit" and press enter)
3) Navigate to: HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Office\12.0\Word\
4) Right click and delete the sub-entry "Data"
That will reset some settings and has fixed the problem for me in the past.

See the article found here http://www.edbott.com/weblog/?p=1771, which describes your problem.  If that is indeed the cause of the problem, then ndewing's suggestion is correct and should resolve it.
