In Exchange 2010 intellegent message filtering without using an edge server.

I have installed my first Exchange 2010 server and I am getting much more spam than I had before with 2003.  I do not have an additional server to install the edge server so I am stuck with the one I have.  In my reading it says I can configure the Hub Transport server to filter spam, but nothing tells me how to do it.  Everything points to the edge server for this purpose.  Can I do this without an edge server and how can I do this?

the best spam filter you'll ever see, for $250 total, extremely customizable, runs on the exchange server itself

Please have a read of the following article for how to use Anti-Spam features on the Hub Transport server:

i personally use Vamsoft ($239 unless the price went up).  Best product I have ever seen.

The only problem I had was the directory structure it gave me was incorrect.  It sent me to  "Program Files\Microsoft\Exchange Server\Scripts" and teh correct structure for 2010 is  "Program Files\Microsoft\Exchange Server\v14\Scripts"  Other than that it was spot on.  This worked great.  Thanks!
