XenApp 6 & STA

trying to get Secure Gateway working with Xenapp 6 - which is supported according to the documentation. But there appears to be no STA anymore - I have seen other people saying the STA has been integrated with the Citrix XML service - but this doesn't help when trying to point the CSG to the STA's on each Citrix Xenapp server?

Does anyone know the fix for this?

I didn't have any problems with the newest release on Access Gateway and XenApp6. Did you make sure the XML port was correct (if you changed it from 80) when you tried to add the STA in secure gateway?

Carl - Yes I read that and followed it as normal (as this is the exact same steps for PS4, Xen App 5 etc) but the Xenapp 6 install doesn't place the CtxSta.dll anywhere in the installation.

This is for Secure Gateway (the free version) not Access Gateway (Appliance). As I don't need the expense of the CAG as I'm only publishing a Desktop to users - so a combination  of CSG and CWI is being used.

Did you try the "or" part?

This field is populated automatically with the default virtual directory path, /Scripts/CtxSTA.dll OR CitrixAuthService/AuthService.asmx

I've searched for the AuthServer.asmx file and its not present.

The funny thing is I have rebuilt the Win2008R2 box from scratch, and then just installed XenApp6 again (without adding IIS or anything else) and let XenApp6 add the prereq's and roles and CtxSta.dll is now present???

haven't tried the Secure Gateway config yet, but just about to.

To clarify my original comment. I used the latest release of secure gateway, not access gateway. In any case, I didn't have to do anything special, it just worked the same as in previous versions.

By latest release, I am assuming you mean CSG 3.2 that was released on March 24th?

The new XA6 installer is extremely smart.  It will add all the necessary roles and features needed for the XA options selected.  Much better than the old days.

i just installed from scratch from the XenApp 6 DVD (well, source on a UNC path) but it has worked.

How very strange that if you add the IIS role first and then install it doesn't work! I'm obviously too used to the old way of doing things from Metaframe/PS days!
