Microsoft Word 2007 wont open at all

Experts,

Do you know if there is a registry fix document for Microsoft Word 2007?   Microsoft 2007 tries to start up but then an error message or two are produced and it asks me to run in safe mode.  I try to run Word 2007 in safe mode but it doesnt work either - I go through the same process again.

I keeps producing error messages and trying to restart until I kill off that process in the Task Manager, etc.   Same thing for MS Excel 2007.

I installed Office 2007 a 2nd time and am getting these same results.  It might be a registry issue?

Your thoughts?

OxygenITSolutions and jameslo-tx,

I agree about system restore and all that.  But OxygenITSolutions is right to an extent - I uninstalled Microsoft Office 2007 last week and then reinstalled it but alas it didnt work.

So, this time I used Revo Uninstaller's moderate install option (to remove necessary registry files - NOT ALL OF THEM) to uninstall Microsoft Office 2007.

Then I installed Microsoft Office 2007 and perfect, Microsoft Word works this time around - I can open documents in Word now...

Revo Uninstaller is the best program out there to uninstall programs and their registry files.  The windows uninstaller program doesnt delete the registry files left behind by other programs.   Be sure to use moderate option, not the extreme option (if extreme option, be careful, verify correct registry files that are bolded and test out extreme option with small programs first to see if you are satisfied, etc.)

Use Revo Uninstaller as the first option among other options available to you.  Make sure system restore and / or clean install are last options if necessary.

I have plans to back up my data on my web server and then do a clean install in my laptop once I have finished up a number of major projects and assignments.   A clean install will get my laptop working like new again and that's what my laptop needs.  For the time being I've got it running nicely and thats what I need.
And check out my solution at the bottom, how I got Microsoft Word working again.   Thanks guys for your assistance!
