You cano do this using Exchange System Manager, navigate to Administrative Groups > First Administrative Group > Servers > Servername > First Storage Group
Right click on the Public Folder Store and select Move All Replicas.  The only option that should appear in the list is your Exchange 2010 server.  Click OK.

my server2003 server is in a different forest to the 2010 server if that helps

and the creation of a forest trust failed but i have manged to move everythingwith powerhsell request so far, so if you know of one for public folder store?

I am not aware that this can be done across sites.

You will probably need to use Outlook to do it manually.

You can use outlook to administer Public Folders.
You connect to your existing Public Folders, download them to PST and then connect to your new server using outlook and put them back.
