IIS/IE Certificate

I have a local intranet server running IIS 7; I created a self-signed certificate to make it so people would have to login securely. I cannot seem to get any computer to accept the certificate; it always shows the red bar up in the address IE7 and 8.
"Certificate Error"
Certificate Invalid
The security certificate presented by this website has errors.
This problem might indicate an attempt to fool you or intercept any data you send the server.
We recommend that you close this webpage.
I’ve added it to the trusted root certification authorities, but it doesn’t do anything. I’ve also got it on trusted websites.

Any suggestions?

What specific certificate error are you receiving?  You'll need to look at the certificate details to find out.

You do not need to install your server's certificate in the client.  At worst, you would need to install the server's certificate's *issuer's certificate* in the client.  (follow that?)  Most likely, your problem is a) you are using a self-signed certificate, b) your certificate is expired, c) your domain name does not match the certificate's common name, or d) some combination of a-b-c.
