TS/RDS CAL's: Windows Server 2008 SP2
Just a quick question for the licensing guru's out there:
I have recently purchased a server with Windows Server 2008 SP2 (NOT R2). From what I can tell, TS CAL's are now defunct and replaced by RDS (Remote Desktop Services) CAL's. I just want to verify that if I purchase RDS CAL's they will work with my Server 2008 SP2 installation. All the documentation I have seen only refers to RDS and Server 2008 R2.
Any advice is appreciated.
Thanks!

They are the same thing.

I had already come across the information that dariusg provided in his answer. That information (nor the webpage linked in dariusg's post) did not point out the specifics of downgrading the licenses to 2008 TS CALs. Since AAppleton's answer included this information, it was the solution I was looking for.
I am happy to give 10% of the points to dariusg, but AAppleton's solution was the one I was looking for.

Despite the new name for the Windows Server 2008 TS CAL as Windows Server 2008 RDS CAL it is important to note that Windows Server 2008 TS CALs and Windows Server 2008 RDS CALs are functionally equivalent. Customers who purchase new Windows Server 2008 R2 licenses for their servers can allow any user or device covered with a Windows Server 2008 TS CAL to access Remote Desktop Services on Windows Server 2008 R2 licensed systems. The Windows Server 2008 RDS CAL can be used with both Windows Server 2008 TS and windows Server 2008 RDS server roles

I realize that the full RDS services are a new functionality of Server 2008 R2, but I am asking whether purchasing the RDS CAL's will allow normal TS usage on my Server 2008 SP2 installation.
