Burn CD from C++ (Alternate to NERO API)

I have used Nero's API for burning CDs and DVDs from my C++ app.   What alternatives are out there for me to use, other than Nero?  Does Roxio provide an API?  Can you do it just using things available in windows?

I wear a lot of hats...

"The solutions and answers provided on Experts Exchange have been extremely helpful to me over the last few years. I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. As I wrote in your other Q - IMAPI2 might help you:

http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyId=B5F726F1-4ACE-455D-BAD7-ABC4DD2F147B&displaylang=en ("Image Mastering API v2.0 (IMAPIv2.0) for Windows XP (KB932716)")
http://www.codeproject.com/KB/winsdk/IMAPI2.aspx ("Burning CD/DVD Media with the Image Mastering API Version 2.0 (IMAPI2)")

And even better: There are no royalties, since it's from MS and the components either ship with Windows or can be distributed freely.

hello, would you tell me how can i get the nero's api for burning cd and dvd?

Lorence -- Nero discontinued their API -- It last worked with Nero Version 6 and now Nero is way beyond that -- so, I'm not sure its a good thing to pursue at this point.

i see thanks :) well i just decided not to use it, since all users must install nero first before they can use your app . about this post, did you successfully get the IMAPI 2.0? looks like the link is broken

I hired a consultant that figured out IMAPI2 and got it to work for me -- I don't know most of the details.

I don't know about others.  It seems a lot of applications want to burn DVDs, so I wonder what most developers do?   Let me know if you find out!
