I wear a lot of hats...

"The solutions and answers provided on Experts Exchange have been extremely helpful to me over the last few years. I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

first you have to make a report that accepts parameters. then you have to embed it into a webpage. lastly you have to pass the parameter from your viewing page to report page.

do you know how to create reports that accept parameters.

in that case you have an hyperlink in your gridview something like this

<asp:TemplateColumn HeaderText="Transaction No.">
     <ItemTemplate>
         <asp:Hyperlink runat="server" Text='<%# DataBinder.Eval(Container.DataItem, "TXNNumber")%>' NavigateUrl='<%# "PointDetails.aspx?Transaction=" & DataBinder.Eval(Container.DataItem,"TXNNumber") %>' ID="Hyperlink1"/>
         </ItemTemplate>
</asp:TemplateColumn>

then

on the page load have something like this

Dim TxnNo As String = Request.QueryString.Item("Transaction")
loadReport(TxnNo) 'Function to load report.

on the report page..
how to pass the parameter to reporting services report..
let;s say, if i have a report in http://prod1/reportserver
and it;s call Auditreport  and it accepts the parameter @ID ...

how can I call this report in repot viewer and and pass the parameter @ID?
0
AsishRajCommented:
You need to load the report using a Function. that would solve the issue.
Pass the ID to the function and let the function pass the ID as the parameter to the report.
